About Zeta

The person behind your books
Some people are naturally wired to help others. Mike is one of them.
He listens carefully, communicates clearly, and goes the extra mile without being asked. Not because it’s good business practice, but because it’s simply who he is.
With over 13 years of bookkeeping experience, he brings a rare blend of technical expertise and genuine care. Clients trust him for accurate books and steady support that helps them feel confident and in control of their finances.
You wouldn’t drive a car blindfolded, so don’t run your business without knowing your numbers.

our story
an unexpected path
My introduction to bookkeeping was unusual and not something I ever expected.
I was serving as the IT Director for a local church when we installed new accounting software. After discrepancies appeared in the books, I was asked to track down the cause. Even with no accounting experience at the time, I welcomed the challenge and dug into the general ledger to figure it out.
When it became clear the issue was human error, not the software, the work of cleaning up and maintaining the books fell to me. I wasn’t sure about adding bookkeeping to my workload, but I’ve always believed that in all labor there is profit and approached it with that mindset.
After my time at the church, I moved into another IT position. In that role, Laura and I saw firsthand what can happen when a business owner doesn’t manage their finances well. It affected employees, customers, and families – including ours. Those experiences shaped the way we think about what it means to handle business finances with care.
When freelance bookkeeping opportunities started coming my way, the skills I had developed proved invaluable. Laura and I began talking about turning that work into a full‑time business and eventually founded Zeta Bookkeeping.
We started this business because we understand what poor financial management costs people. Each client we work with deserves someone who takes that responsibility seriously.
